Overconfidence

“And they returned to Joshua and said to him, “Do not let all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and attack Ai. Do not weary all the people there, for the people of Ai are few.” Joshua 7:3. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! Never under-estimate d power of d enemy.

How many times in life have we boasted, thinking all was well and life was good, only to take a sudd...en fall? When a person is so sure of himself that he becomes careless about little things that may pose a threat!
Over-confidence often paves d way for a fall.

Beloved, d instant we think we are strong enough and have control over d flesh, that’s when we are headed for a fall. Pride consumes us. Pride tells us we don’t need God. It separates us from God & destroys us! Pride & over confidence reduced Samson to a common prisoner. A proud person becomes irritated when corrected for mistakes. A proud person accepts praise for things over which he or she has no control. Pride will not admit mistakes. Pride refuses to take counsel and to learn from other people. Pride often shows itself in competition with other people. Have u ever witnessed someone who seemed to have it all together suddenly tumble down from their high position? Beware of pride. Pride has killed many giants, and its d root of many sins. One way to guard against it is by remaining in Jesus, reading His Word, talking to Him in prayer and admitting our need for His grace on a daily basis. Allow Him to lead & guide u before u takes any serious decision in life! Associate with Godly people. Let God revive u today. Don’t be like d Titanic. Beware of feeling & thinking that nothing can stop u, that u are unsinkable. Don't let pride escort u to untimely grave & hell. Humble yoself and lay yo pride in d dust. “Therefore, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall!” 1 Cor. 10:12. Prayer: Father, I need Yo grace in order to stand firm. Keep me aware that I face a real enemy, and need to face each day with a renewed dependence on U. Amen.

Hav a Testimony Tuesday!

U r God’s Best!

Shalom.
