Do not rebuild Jericho

“Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, “Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; ...” Joshua 6:26. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! Moving forward is walking where He desires us to walk, and not going back where we used to be.

Why should we rebuild what God has destroyed in our lives? Rebuilding Jericho can destroy one’s future. Going back to rebuild Jericho isn’t d way forward. There is already a curse on whoever goes back to rebuild it. We must not be tempted to go back.
Beloved, have u ever found yoself at a place in life where d way forward looks hard, so u want to turn around and go back to where u were? Have u ever been delivered from an addiction, only to go back to d same? U’ve tried to move forward in yo career or a relationship or yo walk with Christ, yet in d process things have gotten harder rather than easier. And u then realize that to continue to move forward, it’s going to require more out of u than u want to give. We must not rebuild d Jericho of repeating past sins. We must not rebuild d Jericho of bad attitude. We must not rebuild d Jericho of unforgiving spirit, idolatry, addiction, pride, strife, hatred, jealousy, depression & anger. Sin is a deceiver, it is a killer and it is dangerous! Do not let it get a foothold in yo life, but root it out, whatever d cost or d pain. Sin will try to side track us from our onward progress. We may stumble or sometimes slow down but as long as we keep on going we will make it. It’s not an easy road but we can make it. Going forward leads us into freedom & life. Going back plunges us into slavery & death. Keep praying, daily reading & studying d Bible. Keep racing towards yo DESTINY. Be focus on that last mile bcos heaven awaits us. Don’t be tempted to go back & rebuild Jericho, there is nothing there but curses and death! March on! “For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor." Galatians 2:18. Prayer: Father, grant me d strength, to stand firm in d freedom of Jesus Christ, that I may not return to d slavery of sin. Amen.

Hav a Testimony Thursday! U r unstoppable

  1. Thank you for the Do not rebuild Jericho post. I have recently been leveled by the loss of a very deep relationship. This morning I was told of the interesting fact that a small section of the Jericho wall still stands. (perhaps Rahab's house?) I took this personally. God has delivered me. I am still standing after the walls came down around me. And, maybe there is enough left to rebuild what was lost..
While browsing for pictures of the Jericho wall and remains, I found this post first. God's message to me is very clear this morning. Painful, but clear.
