When God tells u to shut up!

“So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?” Joshua 7:10. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! We need to talk to God in prayer, but we also need to listen.

Hearing God in d midst of our storms can be a challenge. We need to be silent before Him, and receive instruction, rather than talking/murmuring all d time.

Beloved, our mouth confesses d contents of d heart. When u are tempted to shout about d troubles in yo life, go ahead and do so, but then make time for silence afterward, to get quiet in yo soul, and listen for d voice of d Lord, watch for His guiding hand to lead u through yo storm. And remember that it is hard to hear an answer if u are doing all d talking. It is in silence we have peace. It is silence we have true intimacy with our Creator & renew our strength. God commanded Joshua to be silent. When does God ask us to shut up? Accusing Him for something we did wrong; Praying outside His will-1 Sam. 16:1; When it is time for action & not words-Ex. 14:15; When we are complaining; & Finally, when He wants to speak through someone else. Maybe u are faced with a challenging time right now. Maybe d issues of yo life have stolen yo peace so that u are having difficulty focusing upon anything but yo problems. Stop talking, take a breath, silence yo thoughts and yo voice, look up, & wait for Heaven to give u d answer. He may not give u an audible answer, but if u will listen & pay attention, perhaps He will show u a way forward through yo problems. As we enter into silence, we are entering d presence of our Father. Do u need to commit yo life to Christ today? He is just a prayer away! God still speaks, even today. Are we listening? “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.” Psalm 62:5. Prayer: Lord Jesus, Help me to be silent, and listen for Yo guiding voice, even in d midst of my storms, Amen.

Hav a Breakthrough Thursday!

U‘ll laugh last!

"Why Bad Things Happens to Good People?"

And Joshua said, “Alas, Lord God, WHY have You brought this people over the Jordan at all—to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? ….” Joshua 7:7. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! Why do bad things happen to good people? Why is there so much hurt & pain in d world and in our lives?
Why do innocent children die? Why do thousands starve to death? Why do natural disasters come & destroy? Why is there disease? If God is just & loving how could God permit His people to be afflicted with needless pain & hardship?

Beloved, it has been said that all of us occupy only three positions in life: Getting ready to go into a storm, being in d middle of a storm, or just coming out of a storm. God isn't offended when we ask questions in our despair. He wants us to come to Him when we're confused. So bring yo heartfelt questions and ask Him to help u understand. But be prepared to accept His answers, even if they're not what u expected to hear. And whatever u don't understand, acknowledge His authority, knowing that He loves u, and is able to give u mercy and grace to help in time of need. Friend, d problems we face will either overwhelm or develop us. Thus, d path of joy is determined by how we respond to them. Determine d reason for d storm-Maybe a bad decision u made? Bad advice u received? Sin? Or perhaps u are not growing in faith & practice, and God needs yo attention. Deal with d problem; u cannot solve any problem by ignoring it! Confess yo sins. Refuse to be bitter. Praise God & believe He will turn things around. Let His Word speaks promises to u every day. Read & take those promises to heart. Get on yo knees & seek Him asking Him for guidance every step of d way. Yo faith in God’s promises is yo source of strength in times of trouble. He has not abandoned u, and yo sun can still shine again. Whatever trouble u’re going through, God is always with u. “And call on me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” Ps. 50:15. Prayer: O God of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego, appear in my situation today, in Jesus name.

Hav a Revived Wednesday!
U will overcome!

Overconfidence

“And they returned to Joshua and said to him, “Do not let all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and attack Ai. Do not weary all the people there, for the people of Ai are few.” Joshua 7:3. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! Never under-estimate d power of d enemy.

How many times in life have we boasted, thinking all was well and life was good, only to take a sudd...en fall? When a person is so sure of himself that he becomes careless about little things that may pose a threat!
Over-confidence often paves d way for a fall.

Beloved, d instant we think we are strong enough and have control over d flesh, that’s when we are headed for a fall. Pride consumes us. Pride tells us we don’t need God. It separates us from God & destroys us! Pride & over confidence reduced Samson to a common prisoner. A proud person becomes irritated when corrected for mistakes. A proud person accepts praise for things over which he or she has no control. Pride will not admit mistakes. Pride refuses to take counsel and to learn from other people. Pride often shows itself in competition with other people. Have u ever witnessed someone who seemed to have it all together suddenly tumble down from their high position? Beware of pride. Pride has killed many giants, and its d root of many sins. One way to guard against it is by remaining in Jesus, reading His Word, talking to Him in prayer and admitting our need for His grace on a daily basis. Allow Him to lead & guide u before u takes any serious decision in life! Associate with Godly people. Let God revive u today. Don’t be like d Titanic. Beware of feeling & thinking that nothing can stop u, that u are unsinkable. Don't let pride escort u to untimely grave & hell. Humble yoself and lay yo pride in d dust. “Therefore, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall!” 1 Cor. 10:12. Prayer: Father, I need Yo grace in order to stand firm. Keep me aware that I face a real enemy, and need to face each day with a renewed dependence on U. Amen.

Hav a Testimony Tuesday!

God is love but Hates Sin

“But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things,…..; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel.” Joshua 7:1. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! God is a loving God, but He is also an angry God when it comes to sin.

God's anger was raised against d entire camp of Israel. Many assume that since God is a God of love He would never get angry at anything or anybody. God does get angry, He gets angry at sin. He is not only a God of love, but of holiness & justice & wrath.

Beloved, God's holiness cannot tolerate sin. Sin offends and separates us from Him. Because He is holy, He cannot ignore, excuse, or tolerate sin as though it didn't matter. Sin cuts people off from Him, forming a wall to isolate God from d people He loves. He is a good God, but He is also a just God! He cannot just wink at sin and let it pass by unpunished. He will react in wrath against d sins of humanity & those who fail to repent and get in a right relationship with Him will feel d fury of God's wrath in Hell! People who die with their life of sin separate themselves eternally from God. He wants them to live with Him forever in Heaven, but He cannot take them into His holy presence unless their sin is removed. Have u confessed your sin to God, allowing Him to remove it? The Lord can save u if u turns to him today. His anger was released upon Jesus Christ on d cross. Jesus took yo punishments upon Himself. He suffered once & for all so that u will never experience d wrath of God over sin. Why don’t u humbly repent of yo sins & invite Jesus into yo life today? Begin a new walk with God! Those who are saved by d grace of God stand under d umbrella of that Grace, forever sheltered & protected from d terrible wrath of the Almighty. Are u saved by His Grace, or expecting His wrath? Sin is a deadly disease! “For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23.

Prayer: Father, deliver me from d power of sin, Amen.

Hav a Blessed Monday!

U r saved to safe others!

Shalom.

Are You Building To Last or To Crash?

“… “Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its FOUNDATION with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.” Joshua 6:26. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! What kind of foundation are u laying? Are u building to last or to crash?

The foundation is d most important part of a building. It is d part on which d whole building rests. It has to be solid. The height & strength of a building is determined by d foundation.

Beloved, every one of us is a builder and our life is like a house. The storms of life will come upon every house; d foundation is what makes one to stand/fall when d storms of life come. How far an individual will go in life is dependent on his/her foundation. Hiel of Bethel built his foundation on cursed Jericho, which later destroyed his sons-1 Kings 16:34. Many are suffering today due to a faulty foundation. How do we recognized a faulty foundation: Lack of spiritual growth; Lack of understanding of oneself; Resistance to miracles; Problematic career; Poor health; Confusion & frustration; Fear & worries; Bad habits; Inability to resist temptation; Failure to receive & flow in d Holy Spirit; Continuous sorrow & grief; Chronic hopelessness; Lack of confidence in anybody; Withdrawal from people; Suicide tendency; Bitterness; Struggling; Poverty; Aimlessness; Marital turbulence; e.t.c. The good news is that as a born again, spirit-filled Christian, our foundation is Christ. The faulty foundation of your life can be repaired. Carry out physical & spiritual research on yo foundation-d identity of yo parents? Yo family name? Character traits? Family idols? e.t.c. Repentance & Forgiveness. Renounce & break evil ancestral covenants. Seek total deliverance. “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3. Prayer: Lord Jesus, deliver me from foundational bondage, Amen.

Do not rebuild Jericho

“Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, “Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; ...” Joshua 6:26. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! Moving forward is walking where He desires us to walk, and not going back where we used to be.

Why should we rebuild what God has destroyed in our lives? Rebuilding Jericho can destroy one’s future. Going back to rebuild Jericho isn’t d way forward. There is already a curse on whoever goes back to rebuild it. We must not be tempted to go back.
Beloved, have u ever found yoself at a place in life where d way forward looks hard, so u want to turn around and go back to where u were? Have u ever been delivered from an addiction, only to go back to d same? U’ve tried to move forward in yo career or a relationship or yo walk with Christ, yet in d process things have gotten harder rather than easier. And u then realize that to continue to move forward, it’s going to require more out of u than u want to give. We must not rebuild d Jericho of repeating past sins. We must not rebuild d Jericho of bad attitude. We must not rebuild d Jericho of unforgiving spirit, idolatry, addiction, pride, strife, hatred, jealousy, depression & anger. Sin is a deceiver, it is a killer and it is dangerous! Do not let it get a foothold in yo life, but root it out, whatever d cost or d pain. Sin will try to side track us from our onward progress. We may stumble or sometimes slow down but as long as we keep on going we will make it. It’s not an easy road but we can make it. Going forward leads us into freedom & life. Going back plunges us into slavery & death. Keep praying, daily reading & studying d Bible. Keep racing towards yo DESTINY. Be focus on that last mile bcos heaven awaits us. Don’t be tempted to go back & rebuild Jericho, there is nothing there but curses and death! March on! “For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor." Galatians 2:18. Prayer: Father, grant me d strength, to stand firm in d freedom of Jesus Christ, that I may not return to d slavery of sin. Amen.

You Can Be Released From Curses

“Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, “CURSED be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho;...” Joshua 6:26. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! The foundation of Jericho was good, but trouble started when a curse was issued against it.

Curses are invisible barrier that keeps people or things away from what God has for them. It has long lasting effects, running from generation to generation. The curse on Jericho was not broken till 300-500 years after it was issued.

Beloved, if u allow a curse to remain upon yo life everything will become sour and bitter. Many are like d city of Jericho, beautiful on d outside but unfruitful inside. There is no curse without a demon attached to it. And d person operating under a curse is easy to recognize: frustration; difficulty in making progress; wrong decisions; dreams of retrogression; addiction; oppression; poverty; sickness; depression; e.t.c. A lesson here is that not only can individuals or families be cursed, but communities & cities can equally be cursed. Virtually everyone there will suffer from affliction brought about by d curse. But, u, can break d curse over yo life & community and set everyone there free like Elisha did. Another lesson is that any curse placed by a man of God can be broken by another man of God who has a higher anointing. Jesus is d bondage breaker. Meet Him today and every curse will be cancelled. Is there any curse upon your life? Sin allows curses to operate. Repent. Pray until it is removed and u will begin to lead a blessed life. Blessings will flow and curses will cease. Investigate yo past & ancestral history; Prayer & fasting; Pleading d blood of Jesus & confessing d word of God’ Live in Holiness. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”, Gal. 3:13. Prayer: Let all curses issued against me be converted to blessing, in Jesus name. Have a Wonderful Wednesday! U r d Best! Shalom

Pastor's Corner

By Pastor Bright Adeyeye

“So the people shouted when the priests blew the TRUMPETS.” Joshua 6:20. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! The walls are about to fall! God’s judgment against this city; this world, is at d door! Prepare yoself now! Get out of Jericho while u still can and join us in celebrating d victory when Jesus comes again!

The trumpet to announce d Lord’s second coming, to ushers us into a new body in Christ. Even d dead in Christ shall arise from their sleep. They will go up first followed by us who are alive, and we will all meet d Lord in d air-1 Cor. 15:51–55.

Beloved, soon, d trumpet of God will sound, and d Lord will lead us to d Promised Land. It’s time to get out of Jericho right now, before d final trumpet sounds! Jesus is coming soon! That Trumpet of God is going to sound; not as a call to battle; but as a final call to His church to gather together with Jesus in d air; and to go and be with him and to worship Him forever in Heaven! When that trumpet sounds, there will shouting on d hills of Glory! Every born again child of God, that is trusting in d Blood of Jesus & has been washed in His blood to cleanse us from sin, are going to go straight up from where we are at that moment in time. This present Jericho will be utterly destroyed. It will be turned to ashes in time. The power of darkness will be broken and all who refused to get out of Jericho and get on d Lord’s side will perish right along with everything of this world and this life that they have trusted in. Today is d day of Repentance. Be born again! Walk in d light. Witness to d lost. Stay in d race. Be steadfast in d LORD! Yo decision today determines yo destination! He is coming and we need to be ready! Will He find u ready and waiting if He should come today, if d trumpet should sound even NOW? “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;” Joel 2:1. Prayer: Lord Jesus, HELP me to be ready for d rapture, Amen. Hav a Glorious Monday! U r saved to safe odaz! Shalom.
