“So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?” Joshua 7:10. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! We need to talk to God in prayer, but we also need to listen.
Hearing God in d midst of our storms can be a challenge. We need to be silent before Him, and receive instruction, rather than talking/murmuring all d time.
Beloved, our mouth confesses d contents of d heart. When u are tempted to shout about d troubles in yo life, go ahead and do so, but then make time for silence afterward, to get quiet in yo soul, and listen for d voice of d Lord, watch for His guiding hand to lead u through yo storm. And remember that it is hard to hear an answer if u are doing all d talking. It is in silence we have peace. It is silence we have true intimacy with our Creator & renew our strength. God commanded Joshua to be silent. When does God ask us to shut up? Accusing Him for something we did wrong; Praying outside His will-1 Sam. 16:1; When it is time for action & not words-Ex. 14:15; When we are complaining; & Finally, when He wants to speak through someone else. Maybe u are faced with a challenging time right now. Maybe d issues of yo life have stolen yo peace so that u are having difficulty focusing upon anything but yo problems. Stop talking, take a breath, silence yo thoughts and yo voice, look up, & wait for Heaven to give u d answer. He may not give u an audible answer, but if u will listen & pay attention, perhaps He will show u a way forward through yo problems. As we enter into silence, we are entering d presence of our Father. Do u need to commit yo life to Christ today? He is just a prayer away! God still speaks, even today. Are we listening? “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.” Psalm 62:5. Prayer: Lord Jesus, Help me to be silent, and listen for Yo guiding voice, even in d midst of my storms, Amen.
Hav a Breakthrough Thursday!
U‘ll laugh last!
Shalom.
